There’s an Irish pub in New York that doesn’t do anything by halves — and at Halloween, Oscar Wilde on West 27th Street turns into something you have to see to believe.
We stopped by tonight and the place was in full spooky-season glory: giant skeletons scaling the facade, a haunted black telephone box, ghouls leering from the windows — and Oscar himself, the bronze statue out front, holding court on his bench as if he owns the place. In a manner of speaking, he does.
Oscar Wilde has become one of our favourite New York stops — a proper Irish welcome in the middle of Manhattan, and their seasonal displays are legendary among locals. If you’re in the city this October, put it on your list.
Sláinte — and happy Halloween! 🎃
