Last year the Sam Maguire Cup came to Yonkers — and I was there with the men who won it.
Kerry’s 2025 All-Ireland champions brought the cup to New York after beating Donegal 1-26 to 0-19 in the final at Croke Park — the Kingdom’s 39th title. The team was led by manager Jack O’Connor, a five-time All-Ireland winning manager, and the Clifford brothers: David, who top-scored with nine points in the final and is rated one of the greatest footballers ever to play the game, and Paudie, who was exceptional alongside him all summer.
Up the Kingdom — in Yonkers.
