The area of “Old East Germany”, with its exciting history, is both fascinating and charming. Our luxury 4 star hotel is in the centre of Leipzig, in the former East Germany. Famous names such as Bach, Schumann and Goethe are all associated with the city, indeed Bach spent most of his life here. It has a wealth of historic buildings, stylish shops and a café culture. Day 1

Channel crossing and overnight in Belgium.

Day 2

Into Germany and on to Leipzig for dinner.

Day 3

Excursion to Colditz, an historic town dating back to the middle ages. High above the village is the famous castle that was used as a prisoner of war camp in World War II. We include entrance and a guided tour.

Day 4

Full day to Dresden. Lying on the Elbe, the city was badly damaged during WWII. Now reconstructed, many historic buildings have now been restored to their former glory. An optional scenic boat trip can be arranged today.

Day 5

A full day in Leipzig, city of culture. See St Thomas’s Church, the Old Town Hall, the magnificent railway station and St Nicholas Church, centre for the peaceful revolt that led to the fall of communism.

Day 6

Depart Leipzig. Dinner and overnight in Belgium.

Day 7

Channel crossing and home.
