Italy Golf Tours

Ryder Cup fairways outside Rome, parkland classics beneath the Alps, estate golf among the cypresses of Tuscany and links-style golf on the Sicilian coast — Italy is Europe’s most delicious golf journey, and EGT builds it around your group.

Italy rewards the travelling golfer like no other country in Europe, because the golf is only half the story. Play a golden-age classic in the royal hunting park at Monza, then dine in Milan. Tee off beside Lake Garda in the morning and taste Franciacorta before dinner. In Tuscany the courses run through vineyards and olive groves, and the clubhouse lunch can rival the round. Rome pairs the 2023 Ryder Cup venue with two thousand years of history in a single day, and Sicily closes the journey in another register altogether — golf on the slopes of Mount Etna and along the African-facing southern coast. Executive Global Tours has spent 38 years building custom golf and sports journeys worldwide, and Italy is one of our oldest loves: EGT has worked with ENIT, Italy’s national tourist board, for over thirty years. We secure the tee times, place you in hand-selected hotels and estates, arrange the trains, drivers and domestic flights, and shape every itinerary around your group — golfers and non-golfers alike. JP Cone and the EGT team handle every detail; you simply play, taste and travel.

Why book your Italy golf holiday with Executive Global Tours?

  • 38 years of craft — custom golf and sports travel built by people who lead tours themselves, across Italy, Europe and worldwide.
  • Built personally by JP Cone — every itinerary shaped by JP himself around your dates, group and pace, never off the shelf.
  • Your money protected — client payments are held in escrow with Ben Katz, Esq., CPA, so your trip is secured from the day you book.
  • Food and wine at the centre — EGT runs culinary tours in Italy, and it shows: estate lunches, cellar tastings, market mornings and dinners that are destinations in themselves are built into the golf, not bolted on.
  • Golfers and non-golfers together — Milan’s galleries, Turin’s royal palaces, Florence’s art, Rome’s antiquities and Sicily’s baroque towns give non-players a complete holiday of their own, at the group’s rhythm.
  • Hosted departures — celebrity hosts and sporting legends are available on select departures on request.

Featured Courses

Lombardy & the Lakes

Golf Club Milano — Monza

Italy’s grand parkland classic, set inside the royal park of Monza, one of Europe’s largest walled parks: three loops through mature woodland an easy run from Milan, and a clubhouse steeped in the history of the Italian Open, which it has hosted repeatedly. The elegant way to open an Italian journey.

Gardagolf Country Club — Lake Garda

27 holes on the gentle hills above the lake’s southern shore, through olive groves, cypresses and vineyards, with the water never far from view. Gardagolf has hosted the Italian Open and anchors the Garda golf cluster — an ideal base for a lakes week.

Circolo di Golf Villa d’Este — Lake Como

The aristocrat of Italian golf: a historic parkland course in the hills above Lake Como, founded in the 1920s and long considered one of the toughest tests in the country, paired with the legendary Villa d’Este hotel on the lake below. Old Europe at its most graceful.

Franciacorta Golf Club

27 holes in the heart of the Franciacorta wine hills between Bergamo and Brescia: golf in the morning, Italy’s great sparkling wine at its source in the afternoon — the purest expression of the EGT way in Lombardy.

Piedmont

Royal Park I Roveri — Turin

Piedmont’s flagship championship club in La Mandria park, its Trent Jones Course designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr.: a muscular, strategic test that has hosted the Italian Open, in the foothills of the Alps outside Turin.

Golf Club Torino — La Mandria

The historic Turin club, neighbour to Royal Park in the same royal parkland: classic tree-lined golf with a members’-club warmth, and another Italian Open pedigree.

Le Betulle — Biella

John Morrison’s beloved hillside course in the green foothills above Biella, repeatedly counted among Italy’s most beautiful inland layouts — mountain air, chestnut woods and some of the finest views in Italian golf.

Tuscany

Castelfalfi

Tuscany’s great estate course: 27 holes across a thousand hectares of vineyard, olive grove and woodland around a restored medieval village — the Mountain Course climbs through the hills, the Lake Course rolls gentler, and the estate’s own winery and restaurants wait at the end of the day.

Royal Golf La Bagnaia — Siena

Robert Trent Jones Jr.’s inland links-style design across rolling Sienese hills, all fescue, wind and long views toward Siena: an American architect’s love letter to the Tuscan landscape, with a Borgo estate hotel beside it.

Circolo Golf Ugolino — Florence

One of Italy’s oldest clubs, founded in the 1880s by Florence’s British community, its course in the Chianti hills south of the city: short, cunning and full of character — history with a scorecard.

Argentario Golf Club — Monte Argentario

Championship golf on the wild Argentario promontory, where Tuscany meets the Tyrrhenian Sea: a technical, scenic test between the lagoon, the hills and the Mediterranean, an easy pairing with the Maremma’s wine country.

Rome & Lazio

Marco Simone Golf & Country Club — Rome

The 2023 Ryder Cup venue, redesigned for the matches and owned by the great Roman fashion family of Biagiotti: broad, theatrical stadium golf twenty minutes from the capital, and the round every visiting golfer wants on the card. EGT arranges visitor play in advance as part of your itinerary.

Olgiata Golf Club — Rome

Rome’s elegant members’ club in the countryside northwest of the city, a C.K. Cotton design that has hosted the Italian Open and the World Cup: immaculate parkland golf in an estate of umbrella pines.

Circolo del Golf Roma Acquasanta

Italy’s oldest golf club, founded in 1903, in one of the most evocative settings in world golf: beneath the arches of the Claudian aqueduct, with the Appian Way at its edge. A short course by modern measure; a giant in atmosphere.

Castelgandolfo Golf Club

Robert Trent Jones Sr.’s design inside the crater of an extinct volcano, above the papal summer town and its lake: one of the most unusual settings in European golf, an easy day from Rome.

Sicily

Verdura Resort — Sciacca

Kyle Phillips’ celebrated coastal design on Sicily’s southern shore: two championship courses woven together into a composite that has hosted the European Tour, with holes running down to a private stretch of Mediterranean beach. Sicily’s flagship golf resort, and the natural anchor of a Sicily week.

Il Picciolo Etna Golf Resort — Mount Etna

Sicily’s first golf course, laid out in the lava-stone landscape on Etna’s slopes near Castiglione di Sicilia: black rock, chestnut woods and the volcano smoking on the horizon — a round that could happen nowhere else on earth, and a course EGT features in its Sicily itineraries.

I Monasteri Golf Club — Syracuse

18 holes through citrus groves and prickly-pear country in the Syracusan hills: relaxed, sunlit resort golf that pairs with the baroque cities of the Val di Noto and the Greek theatre at Syracuse.

Golf course access, tee times, playing conditions and visitor eligibility are always subject to availability and individual club policies — EGT confirms them as your itinerary is built.

Sample Tour Packages

All sample itineraries are examples — every EGT Italy trip is built from scratch around your group.

Afternoon in Sirmione or a Franciacorta cellar visit. Day 3: Franciacorta Golf Club — golf among the sparkling-wine hills, with a tasting and cellar lunch after the round. Day 4: Golf Club Milano — the royal park at Monza. Evening in Milan: the Duomo, the Galleria and dinner in Brera. Day 5: Villa d’Este — Como’s historic test, then the lake itself: a boat to Bellagio. Day 6: A favourite repeated, or a free day on the lakes. Farewell dinner. Depart from Milan the next day — or roll south. Ideal for: the elegant north — championship golf, lake scenery and Italy’s great sparkling wine from two beautiful bases.

Option 2: Rome & Tuscany — Golf, Food & Wine (9–10 days / 5 rounds)

Open in Rome: Marco Simone for the Ryder Cup round, Olgiata for the classic members’ test and an Acquasanta morning beneath the aqueduct, with private touring of the ancient city between the golf. North into Tuscany by rail or private driver: settle into the Chianti or the Siena hills for Castelfalfi and La Bagnaia, an estate lunch and a winemaking day in the vineyards, Florence for the Uffizi and the Ugolino club, and a market morning with our culinary team — pasta made by hand, lunch cooked from what you bought. Depart from Florence or Rome. Ideal for: golfers and food lovers together — the Italy of the imagination, played and tasted in equal measure.

Option 3: Grand Italy — North to Sicily (13–15 days / 7–8 rounds)

The full arc: the Lakes and Lombardy as in Option 1; Piedmont next — Royal Park I Roveri and Le Betulle, with Barolo and Barbaresco days in the Langhe hills and Turin’s palaces and cafés; Rome and Tuscany as in Option 2; then fly south to Sicily to close: Il Picciolo on Etna’s slopes with a volcano morning and a winery lunch on the mountain, Taormina’s Greek theatre above the Ionian Sea, and Verdura on the southern coast for the final rounds beside the Mediterranean. Depart from Catania or Palermo. Ideal for: the complete Italian journey — Alps to Etna, Ryder Cup to resort, in one seamless trip.

All itineraries are fully customisable — course selection, nights, pace and non-golf activities are adjusted to your group size, handicap range and interests. Italy also combines naturally with a Ryder Cup-style Rome extension, a Piedmont truffle-season departure in the autumn, or EGT’s culinary tours for groups who want the kitchen to share top billing with the course; ask us when you enquire.

Beyond the Fairways

  • Piedmont & the Langhe — Barolo and Barbaresco in their home villages, white truffles in season at Alba, Turin’s royal palaces, Egyptian Museum and café culture under the arcades.

  • Rome — the Colosseum and the Forum, the Vatican Museums and St Peter’s, the Appian Way by bicycle, and evenings in Trastevere: two thousand years, one city.
  • Sicily — Etna by cable car and crater walk, Taormina’s Greek theatre, the baroque of Noto and Syracuse, Palermo’s markets and Norman palaces, and the Valley of the Temples at Agrigento.

Practical Notes

  • Seasons: Italy plays across a long year. The Lakes and the north are at their best from April to June and September to October; Tuscany and Rome shine in spring and autumn; Sicily extends the season at both ends and plays happily through much of the winter. Piedmont’s truffle season — October and November — is a journey in itself.
  • Getting around: Italy’s golf regions connect beautifully by high-speed rail — Milan to Turin in about an hour, Rome to Florence in ninety minutes — with private drivers for the countryside legs and short domestic flights for Sicily. EGT coordinates every leg so the journey feels like part of the holiday.
  • Access, honestly stated: several of Italy’s great clubs are private members’ clubs, and visitor play is arranged in advance as part of a planned itinerary — which is precisely what EGT coordinates, alongside the resort and estate golf that ties to its hotel stays.
  • Handicaps: carry your official handicap certificate; several clubs ask visiting golfers for one.

Good to Know

When is the best time to come? April to June and September to October suit almost every region. Choose Sicily for the early spring and late autumn edges of the season, Piedmont in October for the truffles, and the Lakes in May or September for the gardens at their best.

How do we play the private clubs? Golf Club Milano, Villa d’Este, Olgiata and their peers are members’ clubs. EGT arranges visitor tee times in advance as part of your itinerary — tell us the clubs you most want to play and we build the trip around securing them.

What is there for non-golfers? A complete holiday in Italy’s own right: Milan’s galleries and the Lakes by boat, Turin’s palaces and Piedmont’s wine villages, Florence’s art and Siena’s streets, Rome’s antiquities, cooking and market days, and Sicily’s volcano, Greek theatres and baroque towns — all at the group’s own rhythm.

Can we build a food and wine trip around the golf? That is EGT’s home ground — we run culinary tours in Italy, and estate tastings, truffle hunts in season, market mornings and cooking experiences can be woven through any itinerary, for golfers and non-golfers alike.

Can we play the Ryder Cup course? Marco Simone welcomes visiting golfers by advance arrangement, and we build Rome itineraries around confirmed times there — paired with Olgiata and Acquasanta, it makes Rome one of Europe’s great golf cities.

For a quote, send: dates, group size, must-play courses, golfers and non-golfers, and the regions you most want — a custom proposal returns free of charge, no obligation.

Ready to start planning your Italy golf journey? Tell us your preferred dates, your group size, your must-play courses and how much of the country you want to taste, and we will craft the custom itinerary — securing the tee times, handling the trains, transfers and payments — so you can focus on the golf, the table and the country itself.

Plan Your Trip — tell us:

  • Preferred dates or the month you have in mind
  • How many golfers and how many non-golfers
