Portugal Golf Tours — Algarve & the Lisbon Coast
Algarve Fairways & Lisbon Light
7 days / 6 nights · Two-centre touring route · 4 rounds
Quinta do Lago & Vilamoura · Monte Rei · Cascais & the Lisbon Coast
Championship golf in Portugal’s sun-soaked south, then the Atlantic light of the Lisbon coast — one journey, two great golf regions, and a proper programme for the guests who don’t play. Golfers take on the Algarve’s finest fairways and a true links outside Lisbon; non-golfers get markets, lagoons, palaces and long lunches of their own. Everyone comes back together for dinner.
This is a sample itinerary — a starting point. Every EGT Portugal trip is custom-designed around your group, your dates and the courses you dream about.
Highlights
- Quinta do Lago South — the Algarve’s championship flagship, eight times a Portuguese Open host, played through umbrella pines at the edge of the Ria Formosa
- Laranjal — Quinta do Lago’s modern masterpiece, all orange groves, lakes and strategy
- Monte Rei North — Jack Nicklaus’s Signature design in the eastern Algarve hills, Portugal’s most celebrated inland course, freshly renovated and reopened in 2026
- Oitavos Dunes — a true Atlantic links between Cascais and the Sintra hills, dunes and pines all the way to the sea
- A real programme for non-golfers, every golf day — Loulé market with a local chef, a Ria Formosa lagoon cruise, old Tavira, and the palaces of Sintra
- Hosted dinners the whole group shares — a welcome dinner on the first night, a hosted Algarve dinner midweek, and a farewell dinner with the week’s presentations in Cascais
Day by Day
Day 1 — Arrive in the Algarve. Arrive at Faro Airport and meet your private driver for the short transfer to a five-star resort base in the Quinta do Lago / Vale do Lobo area. Settle in, stretch your legs by the sea, and meet the group properly at a welcome drinks reception and hosted dinner.
Day 2 — Quinta do Lago South.
Golfers: The South Course — the championship test that has hosted the Portuguese Open eight times, pine-lined and strategic, with the Ria Formosa never far away.
Non-golfers: Loulé market morning with a local chef — the Algarve’s great covered food market — then lunch cooked from what the market gave us.
Together: A relaxed evening at the resort.
Day 3 — Laranjal.
Golfers: Laranjal, the youngest of the Quinta do Lago courses and many players’ favourite — immaculate, thoughtful golf through orange groves and around its lakes.
Non-golfers: A boat into the Ria Formosa lagoon — barrier islands, oyster beds and birdlife — with a seafood lunch in Olhão, the fishermen’s town of cube houses and market halls.
Together: A hosted dinner — the cataplana night, the Algarve’s copper-pot seafood feast.
Day 4 — Monte Rei North.
Golfers: East to Monte Rei, the Jack Nicklaus Signature course set in the foothills above the coast — a round golfers talk about all winter, on a layout freshly restored for 2026.
Non-golfers: Tavira, the loveliest town in the eastern Algarve — Roman bridge, castle walls, salt pans and a long lunch by the river.
Together: Evening at leisure — the resort, the beach, or dinner in town, as you please.
Day 5 — North to the Lisbon Coast. A scenic private transfer north (approximately three hours), breaking the journey with a vineyard lunch in the Alentejo, Portugal’s great wine-and-olive country. Check in to a five-star base in Cascais, the elegant resort town at Lisbon’s door, and stroll the bay as the light changes.
Day 6 — Oitavos Dunes.
Golfers: Oitavos Dunes — a true links in the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, where the Atlantic wind is part of the design and the lighthouse at Cabo da Roca stands on the horizon.
Non-golfers: Sintra — the UNESCO-listed hill town of romantic palaces and gardens, with time in Cascais’s old town on the way home.
Together: Farewell dinner and the week’s presentations in Cascais.
Day 7 — Departure. A leisurely breakfast, a last morning by the sea, and a private group transfer to Lisbon Airport.
Customise it: Add a Lisbon extension for West Cliffs, the modern links above the Óbidos lagoon, or PGA Aroeira No. 1, the classic pine-forest test south of the city. Swap in the Vilamoura Old Course, the Algarve’s beloved “Grande Dame,” or add a fifth round, a spa day, or extra nights in either centre.
