Celtic Football Tours

A matchday at Celtic Park, the Lisbon Lions story told where it lives, a day in Edinburgh — and, if you golf, a guaranteed tee time on the Old Course at St Andrews.

Some football trips are about ticking off a ground. This one is about belonging somewhere for a weekend. Celtic Park — Paradise — holds more than 60,000 people and a story unlike any other in the game: a club founded in Glasgow’s East End to feed the poor of an immigrant Irish community, carried by that community’s faith and pride all the way to the top of Europe. For Irish-American and Irish-Canadian visitors especially, a Celtic weekend lands differently — the songs, the colours and the welcome feel less like a visit and more like a homecoming. Add Edinburgh’s castle and Royal Mile, Glasgow’s galleries and whisky, and EGT’s signature golf option at St Andrews, and you have a weekend built for fans, golfers and companions alike. Nobody in your group is a passenger on an EGT trip.

Celtic Park Match Weekend — 4 Nights, Glasgow Base

(The order flexes around the confirmed fixture: the stadium tour runs on a non-matchday, and the weekend is built outward from matchday once your dates are set.)

Day 1 — Arrive Glasgow

Private airport transfer to your hotel in the heart of Glasgow. Settle in, then a welcome dinner with the group — meet your fellow travellers and your EGT host, and start the weekend the way football weekends should start: talking about the match ahead, and the history you are about to walk into.

Day 2 — Celtic Park, From the Inside

The full Celtic Park stadium tour: the tunnel, the home dressing room, the dugouts and the pitchside walk every supporter dreams of — then the club museum, where the story is told properly. Pride of place belongs to the Lisbon Lions: the team of local men, every one of them born within a short drive of Celtic Park, who beat Inter Milan in Lisbon in 1967 to lift the European Cup — the first British club ever to do it — and became immortal in a single afternoon. Woven through the day is the club’s Irish story: founded in 1888 by Brother Walfrid to raise money for Glasgow’s poor, rooted in the Irish who crossed to Scotland to build new lives, and carried ever since by supporters across Ireland, North America and the world. For many of our guests from the USA and Canada, this is the day the trip stops being a holiday and starts being personal.

Day 3 — Matchday at Celtic Park

The main event. Matchday hospitality at Celtic Park on an official hospitality package arranged for your group — a premium seat, hospitality lounge access before and after the match, and the full ninety minutes inside one of the great atmospheres in world football. When Paradise is in full voice — the colour, the noise, You’ll Never Walk Alone rolling down from the stands — there is nothing in sport quite like it. Evening at leisure in Glasgow, a city that knows how to celebrate a result.

Day 4 — Your Choice: Edinburgh, or St Andrews & The Old Course

Two signature days, one choice — and many groups add a night and take both.

(a) Edinburgh Heritage Day. Scotland’s capital in a day: up the Royal Mile to Edinburgh Castle, home of the Honours of Scotland, then down through the closes and wynds of the Old Town, past St Giles’ Cathedral and the Palace of Holyroodhouse, with time for the shops, pubs and stories of one of Europe’s most beautiful cities.

(b) St Andrews Golf Day. For the golfers: EGT can secure guaranteed St Andrews Old Course tee times — a walk down the first fairway, across the Swilcan Bridge and up the 18th toward the famous clubhouse skyline, on the most storied ground in golf. While the golfers play, companions tour St Andrews town and Fife: the cathedral and castle ruins, the university quarter, the West Sands beach and the harbour, with a coastal lunch in a Fife fishing village. Golfers and companions travel together, eat together and compare days on the ride back to Glasgow — that is the EGT way.

Day 5 — Departure

A leisurely morning in Glasgow — a last walk through George Square or a final coffee in the Merchant City — then private departure transfers.

Prefer the golf built in from the start? The same weekend runs at 5 nights with both the Edinburgh day and the St Andrews day included in full.

For the Companions

Glasgow and this tour are made for the whole group, not just the match-goers — the city’s great galleries and museums, a whisky experience in Glasgow, shopping from Buchanan Street to the Merchant City, the Edinburgh day in full, and evenings in one of Britain’s friendliest, liveliest city centres. Every EGT tour is built so fans, golfers and non-football companions all get a trip worth taking.

Group Sizes

Built for groups of 8 to 40 — supporters’ clubs, groups of friends, corporate groups and couples travelling together. Smaller private groups and bespoke weekends quoted on request.

A Note on Fixtures

League and cup fixtures are set by the leagues and can move for television. We build every weekend around confirmed fixtures and secure hospitality as early as possible; specific matches and hospitality availability are confirmed at the time of your quote. European fixture weeks, where they fall in your window, are quoted on the same basis.

From $2,495 per person (land-only), based on group size, season and confirmed fixtures; your final price is confirmed in your fully-costed itinerary.

Plan your trip: Tell us what your perfect Celtic weekend looks like and we will build it: is a big European night at Celtic Park top of your list, or a classic domestic league fixture — and when do you want to travel? Add how many are travelling and whether the St Andrews golf day is in the plan, and EGT will come back with a fully costed itinerary within 24 hours.

Scotland Youth Development Tour — 7 Nights, Glasgow Base with an Edinburgh Day

Train at academy standard, play Scottish teams matched to your age and level, and stand together inside Celtic Park — a development tour built for North American squads and the families who travel with them.

This is not a sightseeing trip with a kickabout attached. The Scotland Youth Development Tour is a working football tour for youth clubs, high schools, ODP and collegiate squads from the USA and Canada: academy clinics led by licensed academy staff at a Celtic academy-standard facility (arranged for your group, subject to club approval and availability), competitive fixtures against Scottish youth opposition matched to your age group and level, the full Celtic Park stadium tour, and a live match at Celtic Park watched together as a squad. Glasgow is your base throughout — one hotel, no packing and unpacking — with a full Edinburgh day built in. And because EGT builds mixed-group travel better than anyone, parents and siblings are not an afterthought — they travel on the same tour, with their own programme on training and fixture days, and share every stadium tour and match with the players.

Day 1 — Arrive Glasgow

Private airport transfers and check-in at the squad’s Glasgow base. An easy first day: a light training and stretch session to shake off the flight, then a team welcome dinner where the week’s programme — clinics, fixtures, Celtic Park — is laid out for players, coaches and families together.

Day 2 — Academy Clinic 1

Morning Academy Clinic 1: a full training session delivered by licensed academy staff at a Celtic academy-standard training facility — Lennoxtown standard — arranged for your group, subject to club approval and availability. Professional session design, professional standards, pitched at your squad’s level. Afternoon in Glasgow: the city’s galleries and the Riverside Museum, and time together in the city centre. Families follow the parents’ programme (below) and rejoin the squad for the evening.

Day 3 — Fixture 1

Morning recovery and a coach-led team session or classroom video session. Afternoon or evening: Fixture 1 against Scottish youth opposition matched specifically to your squad’s age and competitive level — a proper match, with appointed officials, against players raised in a different football culture who will test you in new ways. Families watch from the touchline; their parallel day runs in Glasgow and rejoins the group for the match.

Day 4 — Celtic Park & a Live Match

The full Celtic Park stadium tour — the tunnel, the home dressing room, the dugouts and the club museum, with the Lisbon Lions story and the club’s Irish roots told where they belong. Then the moment the squad will talk about for years: a live match at Celtic Park, on an official hospitality or group package arranged for the tour where available, subject to confirmed fixtures. Players watch the level they are training toward, together, in a full and famous ground.

Day 5 — Academy Clinic 2

Morning Academy Clinic 2 — a second academy session building on Clinic 1, with a different emphasis set with your coaches in advance: finishing, pressing, playing out from the back, or whatever your season plan calls for. Delivered by licensed academy staff, arranged for your group, subject to club approval and availability. Afternoon at leisure in Glasgow, or an optional extra team activity arranged with your coaches.

Day 6 — Fixture 2

Fixture 2 against fresh matched Scottish opposition — a second test, against a different style, with appointed officials — or swap it for a tournament day against multiple local sides if your coaches prefer the festival format. This evening: the farewell team dinner and the tour awards — the squad’s own player of the tour, chosen by the coaches, with families there to see it.

Day 7 — Edinburgh Day

The whole tour together in Scotland’s capital: Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile, the Old Town’s closes and stories, and free time for families and players to explore one of Europe’s great cities side by side — the shared day out that every travelling family remembers.

Day 8 — Departure

Morning at leisure in Glasgow, then private departure transfers.

Training and fixture days can be weighted up or down to suit your squad’s age, level and season plan, and the Edinburgh day can move within the week to suit confirmed fixtures.

Safeguarding & Coaching Staff

  • Every squad travels with its own coaches and chaperones, who lead the group day to day; an EGT tour manager travels with the tour and handles logistics, venues and scheduling
  • All academy training is delivered by licensed academy staff, arranged for your squad’s age group, subject to club approval and availability
  • Fixtures are arranged against appropriately matched opposition — by age and by level — with appointed match officials
  • Safeguarding and supervision arrangements for every departure are confirmed in writing with the club or school before travel, covering accommodation, transfers, training venues and match venues
  • Travelling families stay in the same accommodation and follow the same transfer plan as the squad

For the Families

Parents and siblings are full members of this tour. On clinic and fixture days, families get their own programme — the Edinburgh day in full, a Glasgow whisky experience, galleries, shopping and city touring, and a St Andrews visit to walk the famous Old Course surrounds and the historic town — and they rejoin the squad for the Celtic Park tour, the live match, the fixtures from the touchline and every team dinner. One tour, two programmes, nobody left behind.

What’s Included

  • 7 nights’ accommodation in Glasgow (single base throughout)
  • Daily breakfast; team welcome dinner and farewell dinner with awards
  • 2 academy training clinics with licensed academy staff at a Celtic academy-standard facility (arranged for your group, subject to club approval and availability)
  • 2 competitive fixtures vs matched Scottish youth opposition, with appointed officials (tournament-day format available)
  • Full Celtic Park stadium tour, including the club museum
  • 1 live match at Celtic Park on an official hospitality or group package arranged for the tour, where available, subject to confirmed fixtures
  • Edinburgh day (castle and Royal Mile) for the full group
  • Parents’ parallel programme on clinic and fixture days, including the St Andrews visit
  • All private ground transfers
  • EGT tour manager travelling with the group
  • All taxes and service charges

Not Included

International flights, lunches and dinners not listed, personal travel insurance (required for all players), and optional add-ons such as additional clinics or fixtures — each priced separately.

From $2,495 per player — and $1,995 per travelling family member (land-only), based on group size, season and confirmed fixtures; your final price is confirmed in your fully-costed itinerary.

Plan your trip: Coaches and group leaders — tell us about your squad and we will build your tour: What is your age group? What level do you play — ECNL, MLS NEXT, high school, or local club? How many players are in your squad, and how many family members are travelling? And which window suits you — pre-season, spring break, or summer?

How Your Match Tickets Work

Your matchday at Celtic Park comes on an official hospitality package arranged for your group — a premium seat plus hospitality lounge access before and after the match, subject to availability and confirmed fixtures. League and cup fixtures are set by the leagues and can move for television, so we build every trip around confirmed fixtures and secure hospitality as early as possible. Specific matches and hospitality availability are confirmed at the time of your quote, and European fixture weeks, where they fall in your window, are quoted on the same basis.

St Andrews Golf Day

Red flag on the 18th green of the Old Course at St Andrews with the clubhouse behind, Scotland

Add the most storied round in golf to your Celtic weekend. EGT can secure guaranteed St Andrews Old Course tee times — a walk down the first fairway, across the Swilcan Bridge and up the 18th toward the famous clubhouse skyline. The St Andrews day can be built into either tour, or added with an extra night.
